Swara Bhasker and Fahad Ahmed got married in February 2023 and became parents to a baby girl, Rabia, in September last year.
Sometimes love lies in differences and Swara Bhaskar and Fahad Ahmed know this best. The couple has revealed how they fell in love and got married despite several differences between the two, from class background to caste. The actor married the activist in February last year. Appearing together on the podcast Couple of Things, hosted by actor Amrita Rao and her RJ husband Anmol, Swara and Fahad revealed that there was not a single similarity between the two when they met each other in December 2019.
Fahad said, “There was a language difference. His mother was a professor at JNU, his father was a respected naval officer who also wrote columns in English newspapers. No one in my family had even passed 10th. I was the first boy who got the opportunity to study and I did PhD from Tata Institute.”
He said, “There was an urban-rural divide. I come from a small part of Bareilly city – which is not even a district. Even our religion is different. I am a Pasmanda Muslim, he comes under OBC, she is a Brahmin. The only thing that was similar was our sexual orientation, we are both straight. We have crossed all barriers of caste, religion, city-village, class. It is challenging, but also fun.”
“There is another difference,” Swara laughed and added, “I am older than him!” Fahadh joked that Swara always tells people this, but he has no problem because “there is nothing to hide”.
“He is really outspoken and honest. He always speaks his mind, no matter where he is, whoever he is in front of. People in our field, in the media and entertainment industry, are very conscious about how we look, what we say. We try to blend in with them and when I met him, that was the first thing I noticed about him,” she added.
Swara Bhaskar and Fahad Ahmed became parents to a baby girl, Rabia, last year on September 23. The actor was last seen in the film Jahan Chaar Yaar, which released in 2022.
