At Star Wars Celebration 2025 in Tokyo, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy and Chief Creative Officer Dave Filoni revealed ‘Star Wars: Starfighter’, starring Ryan Gosling and directed by Shawn Levy. The film is set to premiere in theatres on May 28, 2027.
Levy, known for directing ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’, and Gosling took the stage to share details about the project. Set five years after ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ (2019), the movie is a standalone story, separate from the Luke Skywalker saga.
