Vijay Deverakonda’s much-anticipated Telugu spy action thriller Kingdom has witnessed remarkable growth in pre-release box office bookings, signaling strong audience interest ahead of its scheduled release on July 31, 2025. In the United States, the film recorded an impressive 272% jump in advance ticket sales over the past five days, grossing approximately $280,200 from premiere show bookings alone. So far, around 7,000 tickets have been sold for about 501 shows in the US, underscoring growing excitement among the overseas Telugu-speaking audience.
The film’s budget is reportedly around Rs 130 crore, and industry experts suggest Kingdom will need to earn around Rs 120-130 crore at the Indian box office to enter the “safe zone” given the production costs. This makes its pre-release demand and opening collections critical for its commercial success, especially since Vijay Deverakonda has not had a hit since 2018, with several recent films underperforming at the box office.
Kingdom, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, features Vijay Deverakonda as an undercover spy facing moral dilemmas between his country and family. The film also stars Satyadev and Bhagyashri Borse and includes music by Anirudh Ravichander. Just days before the release, Vijay and co-star Bhagyashri Borse visited the Tirupati temple seeking blessings, an event that generated additional buzz on social media.
