Khushi Kapoor, who is all set to make her big screen debut opposite Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan in Karan Johar’s Loveyapa, was recently compared by the Andaz Apna Apna star to her late mother, legendary actress Sridevi.
Sharing his first thoughts about the film, Aamir Khan said, “I have seen the rough cut. I liked the film. It is very entertaining. It shows how our lives have changed nowadays because of cell phones and what interesting things happen in our lives because of it.
All the actors have done a good job. When I saw the film and saw Khushi (Kapoor), I felt I was watching Sridevi. Her energy was there, I could see it. I am a huge fan of Sridevi.” Khushi, the younger daughter of late Sridevi and producer Boney Kapoor, made her acting debut with Zoya Akhtar’s 2023 Netflix film The Archies.
The film also marked the debut of Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan and Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Bachchan. Talking about the late Sridevi ji, Aamir Khan said, “I am a huge fan of Sridevi.
I always wanted to work with her. She was a brilliant artiste. When the camera was off, she would always keep her talent hidden. As soon as the camera starts rolling, she would start showing her true talent. She would radiate an energy that I found similar to Khushi Kapoor’s acting.
” Loveyaapa is an upcoming romantic comedy and marks the first theatrical release of Junaid and Khushi. Junaid had earlier made his debut with Maharaja. Directed by Siddharth P Malhotra, the film also stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Sharvari. Directed by Advait Chandan, Loveyaapa is set to hit the theatres on February 7.
The film is produced by Phantom Studios and AGS Entertainment. According to the makers, it is “a complex tale of love and its intricacies, mixed with fun and laughter to create a cinematic delight.”
