A heartwarming behind-the-scenes video featuring Aamir Khan and Arijit Singh has taken social media by storm. In the clip, Aamir is seen requesting Arijit not to retire from playback singing, days after the singer announced he would no longer take up new assignments as a playback vocalist.
The video opens with Aamir candidly asking Arijit about his decision. “You are not taking on any project? For some time you want to take a break, or you don’t want to sing for Hindi films? Aise mat kar yaar, hum logon ka kya hoga bhai?” he says, expressing concern over the singer’s exit from Bollywood playback music.
Aamir had travelled to Murshidabad, Arijit’s hometown, to record the title track of his son Junaid Khan’s upcoming film, Ek Din. The video captures several touching moments between the two—from flying kites and playing chess to enjoying jam sessions. In one scene, Arijit serves food to Aamir and his team, while later he takes the actor on a scooty ride around his hometown. The clip ends on an emotional note, with Aamir stopping Arijit from touching his feet and instead bowing down to touch the singer’s feet.
Fans were deeply moved by the interaction, praising their simplicity and mutual respect. Many thanked Aamir for urging Arijit to reconsider his decision to step away from Bollywood playback singing.
On January 27, Arijit announced on X that he would not accept new playback assignments, stating that he wanted the next generation of singers to step forward. However, he clarified that he would continue making music independently.
Directed by Sunil Pandey, Ek Din is produced under Aamir Khan Productions by Aamir Khan, Mansoor Khan, and Aparna Purohit. The romantic drama, also starring Sai Pallavi and Junaid Khan, is a remake of the 2016 Thai film One Day. The music is composed by Ram Sampath, and the film is slated for a theatrical release on May 1 .
