Aamir Khan’s latest release, Sitaare Zameen Par, has emerged as a major box office success, collecting ₹107.78 crore in just nine days of its theatrical run. The film, directed by RS Prasanna, has outperformed several new releases and reaffirmed Khan’s enduring appeal among Indian audiences.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the sports drama earned ₹88.9 crore in its first week and added ₹12.75 crore on its second Saturday alone, reflecting a significant surge in footfall and ticket sales. The film’s total domestic net collection now stands at approximately ₹109 crore, while its global earnings have reached ₹165 crore, making it the fifth highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2025 so far.
Released exclusively in cinemas, Sitaare Zameen Par has been praised for its emotional depth and strong performances. Aamir Khan plays a basketball coach who mentors a team of neurodivergent adults, with Genelia Deshmukh and a supporting ensemble cast contributing to the film’s critical and commercial success.
The film’s robust performance is particularly notable given the competition from other high-profile releases such as Kajol’s Maa, Vishnu Manchu’s Kannappa, and Brad Pitt’s F1. Despite these challenges, Sitaare Zameen Par has maintained strong occupancy rates and ticket sales, with a 150% jump in bookings reported on its second Sunday compared to the previous Friday.
Industry analysts expect the film to surpass the ₹120 crore mark by the end of its second weekend, potentially overtaking Salman Khan’s Sikandar to become the fourth highest-grossing film of the year.
