In his next film Sitaare Zameen Par, actor Aamir Khan has disclosed that his mother Zeenat Hussain, who will turn 91 on June 13, would make her Bollywood debut. Aamir revealed that the request was made to him by the film’s director, RS Prasanna, who then requested Zeenat. Nikhat Khan, Aamir’s sister, is also a member of Sitaare Zameen Par. When they were filming Sitaare Zameen Par, Zeenat, who had never visited the sets, asked Aamir about the location and said she would like to see how the movie was made.
They were filming a “happy wedding song” at the moment. “Sir, if it’s okay with you, could you ask Ammi ji to be in the picture?” Prasanna approached me, he said. It’s a wedding celebration montage and the movie’s final tune. She could very well be a guest. I want her to be in the movie because it’s an emotional issue for me.”
In response, a startled Aamir said, “I said to him, ‘Tu pagal ho gaya hai? Ammi ko poochne ki, ki film mei kaam karo, shot do, meri himmat nahi hogi. She’s really ziddi. She won’t pay attention. Avoid wasting time. I should ask her at least once, he insisted. “Ammi, Prasanna said, kar rahe hain ki aap ek shot do ek guest banke,” I said. “Haan theek hai” (all right, all right) was her response. I was taken aback! She appears in one or two shots, then. It is my only movie in which she has ever appeared.
Genelia Deshmukh plays Aamir’s romantic interest in the movie. It also stars Ashish Pendse, Samvit Desai, Simran Mangeshkar, Vedant Sharmaa, Naman Misra, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishnan Varma, and Aayush Bhansali. On June 20, the film, which is produced by Aamir Khan, will be released in theaters.
