According to Richa Chadha, granting filmmakers autonomy is the way to go

Actor-producer Richa Chadha feels that the challenging time the Hindi film industry has been going through is due to changing consumer behavior. There is no denying that the pandemic has changed how people throughout the world consume content. “There has also been a change here,” she continues. Everyone was locked at home, watching things at a different pace, and experimenting.” As the larger films stop working, people are forced to turn inward more and more.

Richa wishes to approach the problem in a different way now that she is producing movies. “I want to tell stories that are engaging, risk-taking, and don’t belittle the intelligence of the audience. I would want to support and continue those stories that consider this. I have complete faith in our broad readership. We must provide them with a well-produced, well-released picture. That makes a difference since a movie’s distribution is just as crucial as its appearance”, she claims.

“As a producer, I’m saying that the way forward is in giving filmmakers and directors freedom,” Richa continues. ” They will be unable to create the narrative they desire if you do not grant them freedom. They will take the easy route and play it safe, which is frequently dull. With the huge Marvel and superhero movies, that is also taking place in Hollywood. Who wants to see all four of the Spider-Man movies? Or a retelling of a classic tale, such as Snow White? Usme cinema kahin marr jata hai, itni saari cheezein jab dobara banate rehte ho.”
