Actor Dileep’s anticipatory bail plea hearing in the Kerala actor assault case has been postponed for Friday, January 22. The anticipatory bail was posted for today, but the Kerala High Court postponed the matter to Friday after the prosecution sought more time to complete its probe.
Due to the many new developments in the case, the prosecution requested that it needed more time to complete the probe.
This is the third time that the anticipatory plea of actor Dileep has been postponed.
Also, as ordered by the court earlier, the actor will not be arrested until the anticipatory bail plea is heard. He was seeking anticipatory bail in the case of conspiracy against investigating officers with the intent to harm in a 2017 case of assault and abduction of an actor.
After director Balachandra Kumar provided new details to the case, there have been several new twists and turns. The director alleged that Dileep had orchestrated the attack on the victim and even had several incriminating videos.
The court proceedings were progressing smoothly for Dileep till Kumar made an appearance and spilled the beans saying that the actor soon after being released on bail saw the visuals of the actress who was kidnapped being physically attacked by her tormentors.
Until this time it was only the trial court had seen it. Kumar made more disclosures before the police and also a magistrate.
Based on these disclosures, the police probe team registered a fresh case and sensing that he might be arrested, Dileep sought an anticipatory bail.
Dileep was arrested in 2017 and lodged in prison in a case related to a gang sexually assaulting a frontline heroine of South Indian movies and filming the scenes. After two months in jail, he was released on bail.
