In a shocking incident that came to light recently, a 43-year-old man allegedly killed his 74-year-old mother by hitting her on the head repeatedly with a baseball bat and dumped her body in a river in Mumbai’s Vile Parle area in property disputes. The dead woman was identified as Veena Kapoor but media reports claimed that popular TV actress Veena Kapoor was murdered by her son. The mix-up was clarified by Veena herself as she came forward and assured everyone that she is alive and well.
After filing a complaint to the police about her death rumors, Veena told ANI, “It’s true that Veena Kapoor was murdered but I’m not her. We have the same name but I prefer Goregaon, not Juhu. I live with my son so people thought I was murdered. I want to tell everyone that I am alive and well. Please don’t fall prey to fake news. I have now registered this complaint so that such incidents do not happen in the future. Constant phone calls are affecting my mood at work.”
