Actress Rhea Chakraborty Charged In Drugs Case Involving Sushant Rajput

Actor Rhea Chakraborty used to be charged on Wednesday for shopping for narcotics for her actor-boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput, who died in 2020, by means of the country’s anti-drugs agency.
A chargesheet filed by means of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) named her and 34 others as accused in the high-profile case.

Ms Chakraborty, 30, has been charged with buying and financing a small extent of marijuana. Her brother, Showik Chakraborty, has also been named as an accused.

According to the NCB, he received and delivered ganja to Sushant Singh. He also paid for it at her request, they said.

Rhea Chakraborty faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

The actor called the allegations against him a “witch hunt”. In an interview with NDTV, he admitted that Sushant Singh Rajput used to smoke ganja, but denied that he used drugs or helped decide to buy them.

“I tried to manage him… I have never talked to a (drug) supplier or taken a capsule in my life. I am open to a blood test,” she told NDTV.

Rhea Chakraborty – accused of psychologically harassing Sushant Singh’s family, extorting him for cash and staging a ritual over his death – has been the focus of investigations by three central agencies.

Apart from the NCB, she is also being investigated by the CBI, which is probing Sushant Singh’s death, and the Economic Factor is being looked into by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Ms. Chakraborty was once arrested in this case in September 2020 she was granted bail using the Bombay High Court about a month after her arrest
