Actress Shefali Shah recalls challenges while shooting for ‘Jalsa’

Actress Shefali Shah shares her journey of working in Vidya Balan-starrer ‘Jalsa’. Shefali shared: “Well, there have been exciting components but right after the first shot, it’s a very severe film. For me, creatively- it was once very high.” Shefali and Vidya are playing the leads in the movie. Shefali is considered as Ruksana in the movie and she talks about getting into the pores and skin of personality and challenges confronted whilst shooting a sequence.

Talking about an incident from the shoot, she said: “There was once one scene that used to be very maddening to shoot due to the fact of the continuity on digicam of my dupatta, my purse. So, it used to be a scene where I walked into the garage and hit the boy. So, I requested the director if she is coming from the medical institution and Ruksana being shy won’t go out barring the dupatta, so where is her dupatta.”

Sheali similarly explained her point to the director that her on-screen persona will need dupatta and he asked her to do the shot in the same way. But the task was to keep continuity while protecting the bag or carrying a dupatta in the equal way as the previous shot. So, that it appears actual and herbal to the audience.

She added: “He said, ‘Give her the dupatta’, and I came and hit the guy. So, the way I desired to do is— hit him, take hold of him, hit him with purse and he said, go ahead. I did it and it used to be good. But then when they began to take it from one of a kind angles they wanted to match the moment of my dupatta when it fell down, when my hand went up, one handle of the purse fell. I regret all my asking again. We had to re-do it to in shape the continuity.”

Directed through Suresh Triveni and produced by T-Series and Abundantia Entertainment, ‘Jalsa’ will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on March 18.
