Actress Sonali Bendre revisits hospital where she underwent treatment for cancer: ‘Felt like telling patients there’s hope’

Actress Sonali Bendre shared a video on her Instagram handle, recalling her cancer journey as she revisited the same sanatorium where she was treated. The clip featured her and husband Goldie Bahl sitting in a hospital chair. He remembers the time he sat in that chair between his chemotherapy sessions.

She wrote as a caption of a video, “This chair, this view, this exact equal spot… 4 years later. From sheer terror to persevered hope, so a great deal has modified yet so a good deal remains the same. It used to be unreal to sit there and see sufferers going in and I ought to see that I had been thru a similar journey… noticed the chemotherapy suite, the equal ready room, faces were different… I felt like telling the sufferers that there’s HOPE, and I am there on the other side and seem to be at me nowadays I have come in for a visit on the different aspect of the spectrum.”

She also wrote, “It was, as you can guess, a very bittersweet, emotional day. I stepped out, seemed my son in the eye, with the sunshine on my face and thanked the universe for everything.”

Shweta Bachchan Nanda commented, “Sending you hundreds of love.” One fan wrote, “A warrior and a survivor,” and every other one said, “You’ve given hope to many.”

Sonali announced the news of her metastatic most cancers in a tweet in 2018. In a statement, she wrote, “Sometimes, when you least anticipate it, existence throws you a curveball. I have recently been identified with a high-grade cancer that has metastasised, which we frankly did no longer see coming. A niggling ache led to some tests, which led to this sudden diagnosis. My family and close friends have rallied round me, providing the best aid system that every person can ask for. I am very blessed and thankful for every of them.”


Before 1994, Sonali made her acting debut in the film. He had his first massive hit with the action-romance Diljale (1996). She later starred in films like Major Saab (1998), Jakham (1998), Sarfarosh (1999), Hum Saath-Saath Hai (1999), and Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai (2000). She has judged many reality shows like India’s Best Natakbaaz, Hindustan Ke Hunarbaaz, India’s Got Talent and Indian Idol. She made her OTT debut with Zee5’s show The Broken News.
