Aditi Rao Hydari says working with Ranbir Kapoor in Rockstar was ‘fantastic’: ‘He can convince you of anything’

Heeramandi actor Aditi Rao Hydari opens up about sharing screen space with Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.
Bollywood actress Aditi Rao Hydari has recently opened up about her experience of sharing the screen with actors like Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor in an interview. Aditi, who is currently seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi, also praised the filmmaker. The actor also starred in SLB’s Padmaavat.
In an interview with Humans of Bombay, Aditi said that, “I finished shooting a love story with Mani Ratnam and 3 days later, I was on Sanjay’s sets. I walked onto the set and of course, I was enthralled because it was just like, ‘What is this world?’ Incredible. I was so overwhelmed.”
Her first scene on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali was with Ranveer Singh, an actor she knows since her early days in the industry. “Ranveer looked at me and said, ‘Adu, you know you’re living the dream, right?’ (Leaving Mani Ratnam’s set and coming to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s set) He was shaking me and I realised, ‘You are right, you are right.’ It was really incredible.’
Aditi Rao Hydari expressed her admiration for Sanjay Leela Bhansali, praising his unique approach towards filmmaking. “I love Sanjay sir. I just love working with him. He creates this incredible environment for us, and he loves his actors and characters. Everything he does comes from love and immense passion. It is very inspiring and wonderful to see. Everyone talks about how he challenges his actors, but he challenges himself most of all, to find that magic, to keep creating, to find something almost ephemeral. It’s an experience.”
When Aditi was asked about her experience of working with Ranbir Kapoor in Rockstar, she was equally excited. “But working with Ranbir was fantastic. That’s incredible, so incredible. He’s one of my favorite actors and he’s very present. He can convince you of anything.”
Aditi Rao Hydari’s Heeramandi is presently streaming on Netflix.
