Ajay Devgn has recently invested in a single malt brand where each bottle will be sold for Rs 50,000-60,000.
Ajay Devgn has been an actor for almost three decades but along with his acting career, he is also an entrepreneur. It is well known that Ajay owns a visual effects studio and a cinema chain along with a few other businesses. Now, the actor has also entered the liquor industry as he recently invested in a single malt brand. One of these bottles costs between Rs 50,000-60,000 and there are only 1200 limited edition bottles of the beverage.
According to a recent report by CNBC TV18, the malt is named Glenjernies and Ajay told the publication, “Ever since I became legally eligible to drink alcohol, I have been enjoying a good drink.” However, Ajay quit drinking after visiting a ‘wellness spa’ and stayed away from alcohol for a year. “I went to a wellness spa and since then I have not felt like drinking at all,” he said. He further added, “Now I only have two small drinks a day. I love the bold flavour of the malt.” Describing herself as a “fashion freak”, Ajay said that after “tasting whisky” she “got hooked” and got associated with the brand.
In another conversation with Money Control, Ajay said that before quitting alcohol he “used to drink vodka for quite some time” and then started tasting single malts. When he met his co-founder Moksh Sani of Cartel Bros in Scotland, Ajay became interested in this business opportunity. Earlier, the brand collaborated with actor Sanjay Dutt, who was also the face of the brand and reportedly managed to sell 3 lakh units of their 200ml bottles within 45 days of launch. Ajay recently appeared on Sanjot Keer’s YouTube channel, where he told his fans about a unique way of consuming alcohol. He revealed that he and his friends squeeze sugar syrup out of rasgullas and then dip them in glasses of alcohol. When the rasgullas absorb all the alcohol, they eat them in one go.
