Akhanda 2 Nets ₹61 Crore Opening Weekend

Tollywood superstar Nandamuri Balakrishna’s mass action entertainer Akhanda 2 has made a promising start at the box office. According to trade reports, the film has collected around ₹61 crore net in India during its opening weekend, with Sunday alone contributing nearly ₹15 crore.

Directed by Boyapati Srinu, the film is a sequel to Balakrishna’s blockbuster Akhanda and has been one of the most anticipated Telugu releases of the year. Despite opening to mixed critical reviews, the movie has managed to draw large crowds, particularly in evening shows, underscoring Balakrishna’s enduring mass appeal.

Industry trackers note that Akhanda 2 has already crossed the ₹100 crore mark globally, combining domestic and overseas earnings. The film’s strong performance is seen as a positive sign for the Telugu film industry, which has faced stiff competition from other regional and pan-Indian releases.

While Akhanda 2 faced competition from other releases such as Dhurandhar, it maintained momentum and held its ground at the box office. The film’s collections are expected to remain steady through the week, with holiday season footfalls likely to boost earnings further.
