Akshay Kumar Credits ‘Tom & Jerry’ as His Ultimate Action Muse: “It’s the Most Violent Show!”

In a revelation that left everyone amused and intrigued, Akshay Kumar disclosed the surprising source behind his adrenaline-pumping action scenes: the classic cartoon Tom & Jerry.

“Do you know where I draw all this inspiration from? All the stunts I’ve done? You won’t believe it—from Tom & Jerry,” Akshay said. “I think it’s the most violent show out there. It’s made for kids, but if you really watch it, every episode is packed with brutal, nonstop action!”

The Khiladi star shared how he mirrored several iconic animated scenes in his films. “There’s an episode where Tom descends from a helicopter to snatch Jerry—I did that in Sabse Bada Khiladi. Tom clinging to a plane? That showed up in Khiladi 420. And the moment where Tom and Jerry sip wine while lounging on a hammock under a helicopter? I recreated that in Khatron Ke Khiladi,” he said with a smile.

Calling the cartoon his “favorite action film of all time,” Akshay added, “People think it’s humorous—but it’s not. It’s pure chaos. At one point, Tom smashes an entire house with a bat! Please understand—you’re showing your kids the most violent action show ever.”

Up next, Akshay will be seen in a divine avatar, making a special appearance as Lord Shiva in Kannappa, directed by Vishnu Manchu and Mohan Babu. The film, featuring cameos by Prabhas and Mohanlal, is scheduled to hit theatres on June 27. He’s also gearing up for the ensemble comedy Welcome to the Jungle and Priyadarshan’s spooky caper Bhooth Bangla, alongside Wamiqa Gabbi and Paresh Rawal.
