Akshay Kumar hails PM Modi’s call for restraint over ‘Boycott Bollywood’

The hashtag ‘Boycott Bollywood’ has been trending after the shocking demise of Sushant Singh Rajput . Many bollywood movies have failed in the box office after the trend got started.

However, in 2022, superstar Aamir Khan’s ‘Laal Singh Chadha’, an official Hindi remake of the 1994 Tom Hanks-starrer ‘Forrest Gump’, is one of the first casualties of the ‘Boycott Bollywood’ trend. Later ‘Liger’, ‘Raksha Bandhan’, and many others followed.

The trend has rocked the Bollywood industry with many failures.

Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, last week, asked his party workers to refrain from making ‘unnecessary comments on irrelevant matters like films’. In his address to the BJP’s national executive meeting, PM Modi said that making unnecessary comments on irrelevant issues puts the party’s development agenda behind.

Bollywood khiladi Akshay Kumar was thrilled to hear Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s stance.

During the trailer launch of his upcoming movie ‘Selfee’, he said that the Prime Minister was ‘India’s biggest influencer’ and if his words could bring about some change, it would be great for the film industry.

Prime Minister Modi’s comments and called it a ‘huge confidence’ for the Hindi film industry.
