Schiaparelli is a Fashion house found by an Italian woman Elsa Schiaparelli. Elsa was born on 10th September 1890. She started her brand with a Knitwear collection which caught the attention of many fashion enthusiasts but it was her designs which were heavily influenced by Surrealists like her collaborators Salvador Dali and Jean Cocteau that cemented her as a serious designer. The same surrealism approach could be seen in the design of Daniel Roseberry present creative director of the fashion house. Schiaparelli’s Fall couture 2021 collection has garnered attention and praises from around the world. The collection was named ‘ Matador Couture’ and Daniel Roseberry has emerged as a rising star of the rarefied Paris haute couture scene with his Surrealist creations at Schiaparelli. The collection was filled with Curved sleeves sprouted metallic 3D ears, noses and lips, or were embroidered with ceramic eyes. A jacket pieced together from vintage Levi’s jeans featured mismatched breasts — one a pert metallic bosom, the other an abstract swirling cone — and panels of anatomically molded gilded leather.
The collection was an instant hit in the high fashion circle and Bella Hadid wore a piece from the collection straight out of a runway for Cannes Film Festival few weeks back.
