Allu Arjun to Conclude Atlee’s ₹600 Crore Period Film by June 2026

South Indian superstar Allu Arjun is expected to wrap up filming for director Atlee’s ambitious period drama by June 2026, according to industry sources. The film, tentatively titled AA22xA6, marks the first collaboration between the acclaimed actor-director duo and is being produced by Sun Pictures with a reported budget exceeding ₹600 crore.

Principal photography for the project commenced on June 12, 2025, in Mumbai, following a formal puja ceremony held a day earlier. The initial schedule features Allu Arjun alongside Mrunal Thakur, who plays one of the female leads. The shoot is focused on key sequences that will establish the tone for the expansive narrative.

The film is described as a reincarnation-themed period spectacle, blending high-octane action with dramatic storytelling. It was originally conceptualized with Salman Khan in the lead, but Allu Arjun was later confirmed to headline the project, bringing a pan-India appeal to the production.

Sources close to the production reveal that Allu Arjun has requested Atlee to expedite the shooting schedule, as he plans to announce a new project around mid-2026. The actor’s commitment to completing the film within the stipulated timeline reflects his strategic planning and growing influence in the national cinema landscape.

The film will reportedly feature three female leads, with Janhvi Kapoor being considered for one of the roles. Another male protagonist is yet to be finalized. A special announcement photoshoot with the cast has already taken place and is expected to be unveiled in the coming weeks.

With its massive budget, star-studded cast, and high production values, the Atlee–Allu Arjun collaboration is being positioned as one of the most anticipated Indian films of 2026. The project is expected to set new benchmarks in visual storytelling and box office performance.
