Amazon India’s new Fulfilment Centre

Amazon India launched a new Fulfilment Centre (FC), the largest in West Bengal. This expansion will help the 25,000 sellers in West Bengal offer a wider selection and enable faster deliveries within West Bengal and neighbouring North-eastern states. The expansion in West Bengal is a part of the company’s plans announced in July to add 10 new Fulfilment Centres and expand 7 existing sites, across India. This expansion marks a significant increase in Amazon India’s infrastructure in the State. Amazon also supports local entrepreneurs and businesses in West Bengal, with programs that enable part-time and full-time delivery opportunities.

Akhil Saxena, VP, Customer Fulfilment Operations, APAC, MENA & LATAM, Amazon said, West Bengal is a very important market for Amazon as its strategic location enables the company to better serve customers in West Bengal and neighbouring North-eastern states. With this expansion, Amazon will be able to support small & medium businesses while creating hundreds of work opportunities for locals in the region.
