Film actor Madhu rose to fame after starring in Mani Ratnam’s 1992 film Roja and as her career progressed, Madhu found something she considered her lucky charm. In a recent interview, Madhu recalled an incident when he got a chance to play cricket with Amitabh Bachchan and actually helped him win the match. So much so that Amitabh Bachchan picked him up in his lap and took a tour of the stadium with him.
Speaking to Bollywood Bubble, Madhu recalled that in the 1990s, she once heard Ronit Roy talking about his blue sapphire stone that it was lucky for him and as soon as he heard this, Madhu It came to light that she also wanted to wear this stone. He then shared an anecdote from the time when he participated in a charity cricket match between cricketers and celebrities. Here she was playing in a team which was led by Amitabh Bachchan. “I was playing in Bachchan saab’s team, he was our captain and I was one of the players. There were a lot of people in that stadium in Hyderabad, about 50,000 or 5,000 people and there was applause,” he recalled.
Madhu said that when she actually went to bat, she hit the ball and managed to take two runs. Even in the end he caught the ball and helped in taking the last wicket. “Then I heard the applause of those thousands of people. As an actress I never heard that but I felt that way,” she recalled. Madhu narrated how Amitabh Bachchan celebrated the victory that day and said, “Amit ji picked me up and did a victory lap. I just knew that this stone was lucky,” she said.
Madhu will soon be seen in the Hindi film Kartam Bhugatam. He was last seen in Ravi Teja’s film Eagle, which released in January. She is known for her work in films like Phool Aur Kaante, Roja and Gentleman.
