Kaun Banega Crorepati fans often get to hear interesting anecdotes from Amitabh Bachchan’s illustrious career and personal life. In a recent promotional clip for the upcoming episode of the show, Big B shared an interesting anecdote from the sets of his 1976 romantic film Kabhie Kabhie, revealing how the film’s director Yash Chopra asked him to wear his clothes for the role.
The Kalki 2898 AD actor revealed how he went from shooting for the intense, action-packed Deewar to the serene, romantic setting of Kabhie Kabhie in a matter of days. “The shooting of Deewar was going on and as you know, Deewar is a film which has fight scenes, action and many such things. Just two days after completing that film I had to go to Kashmir to shoot for Kabhie Kabhie, it was a romantic film with flowers all around, cold mountain breezes and a completely different atmosphere.
It felt very strange to go from one extreme to another,” Bachchan recalled. After finishing the shoot of Deewar, Big B sought clarity about his costumes for Kabhie Kabhie. Recalling his conversation with Yash Chopra, he said, “So, before leaving for Kashmir, I asked Yash ji what I would wear for the film. His reply was, ‘Wear your own clothes.
They will look good.’ And I did exactly that. All the clothes you see me wearing in that film are from my own clothes.” Kabhie Kabhie was Yash Chopra’s second film with Amitabh Bachchan after the blockbuster success of Deewar. Both films turned out to be huge box-office hits, with Deewar cementing its place as a cult classic.
Meanwhile, Kabhie Kabhie became famous for its evergreen soundtrack, which included famous tracks like “Kabhie Kabhie Mere Dil Mein”, “Main Pal Do Pal Ka Shayar Hoon” and “Tere Chehre Se”.
