As Mumbai bids adieu to the iconic double decker bus, celebs recall their favourite memories

Mumbai’s iconic red double decker bus which has been serving the Mumbaikars since the last 80 years is now bidding goodbye to everyone. For the first time the buses were introduced in 1937. Today(15th of September) the last double decker(non-AC) bus left from Marol Depot. And it will permanently disappear from the roads of Mumbai from 15th of September.

When the buses were in service it was a sightseeing moment for the tourists. People who have enjoyed traveling in this bus will surely miss it. The bus which was running under ownership of The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) will be tried to keep in Museum to showcase the history of transport in Mumbai. The appeal has been made to the state government to preserve this last bus.

BEST has introduced several other double decker buses with a AC and fans fix in it. It is confirmed that the new double decker bus will start serving Mumbaikars from the next year.
