Baaghi 4 Holds Steady at Box Office with ₹31.25 Crore Opening Weekend Despite Mixed Reviews and Fierce Competition

Tiger Shroff’s action-packed thriller Baaghi 4 has maintained a firm grip on the box office, collecting ₹31.25 crore over its opening weekend despite facing stiff competition and a lukewarm critical response. Released on September 5, the fourth instalment in the popular franchise opened with ₹12 crore on Friday, dipped to ₹9.25 crore on Saturday, and rebounded with ₹10 crore on Sunday.

Directed by A. Harsha in his Hindi cinema debut and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, Baaghi 4 stars Tiger Shroff, Sanjay Dutt, Sonam Bajwa, and Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu in her acting debut. The film is loosely inspired by the 2013 Tamil movie Ainthu Ainthu Ainthu and follows Ronny, a grief-stricken man who survives a train crash and spirals into psychological chaos as he searches for a lost love.

While the film’s performance trails behind its predecessors—Baaghi 2 and Baaghi 3 opened with ₹73.10 crore and ₹53.83 crore respectively over their first three days—it has shown resilience amid a crowded release slate. Hollywood horror thriller The Conjuring: Last Rites outpaced Baaghi 4 with ₹49.16 crore in the same period.

To boost footfall, producers offered a 50% discount on tickets through Sunday, which helped stabilize earnings. The film recorded a 27.08% occupancy rate in Hindi markets on Sunday, with evening shows peaking at 36.95%. Delhi-NCR led regional performance with 31.5% occupancy across 792 screens.

Tiger Shroff made a surprise appearance at Mumbai’s Gaiety Galaxy cinema, where he interacted with fans and tossed his T-shirt into the crowd, adding to the film’s buzz.

Industry analysts note that while Baaghi 4 has not matched the franchise’s earlier box office highs, its steady weekend performance and fan engagement suggest potential for sustained earnings in the coming week. However, the film will need strong weekday collections to maintain momentum and justify its franchise legacy.
