The Madras High Court has stayed the release of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s upcoming film Akhanda 2. The order came after Eros International filed a petition citing a pending arbitral award against 14 Reels Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. from July 2019. The award directed the production house to pay approximately ₹27.7 crore with interest, but no payments have been made to date.
Eros argued that 14 Reels Plus LLP, linked to the same promoters, was attempting to release Akhanda 2 to bypass the financial liability. Accepting this contention, the Court issued an injunction blocking the film’s theatrical and digital release until the dues are cleared.
Akhanda 2, directed by Boyapati Srinu and produced by 14 Reels Plus LLP and IVY Entertainment, was scheduled for release in December 2025. The stay order has delayed one of the most anticipated Telugu films of the year, leaving its future uncertain until the dispute is resolved.
