A BJP leader from Palakkad, Kerala, has lodged a formal complaint against rapper Vedan, accusing him of defaming Prime Minister Narendra Modi and promoting caste-based divisions through his music. The complaint, filed by VS Minimol, a municipal councillor, urges the Union Home Ministry and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to take action against the artist.
Minimol alleges that Vedan’s song contains derogatory remarks about the Prime Minister and inflammatory language that could incite public discord. The complaint also references Vedan’s previous arrest in a drug-related case and claims that his concerts promote violence.
Vedan has yet to respond to the allegations, but the controversy has sparked debates on artistic freedom and political criticism.
