Mumbai, September 20, 2025 — The third installment of the popular courtroom comedy franchise, Jolly LLB 3, starring Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi, opened to a robust start at the Indian box office on Friday, September 19. Directed by Subhash Kapoor and produced by Star Studios and Kangra Talkies, the film has garnered positive reviews and strong audience turnout across major metros.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Jolly LLB 3 collected ₹12.75 crore net on its opening day, surpassing the debut figures of recent Akshay Kumar releases such as Sky Force (₹12.25 crore) and Kesari Chapter 2 (₹7.75 crore), and outperforming Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par (₹10.20 crore).
The film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 22.40% on Friday, with morning shows at 10.28%, afternoon at 17.46%, and night shows peaking at 39.45%. Delhi-NCR led with 29.33% occupancy, followed by Mumbai at 23% and Bengaluru at 24.33%.
Advance ticket sales contributed ₹3.23 crore, with over 1.2 lakh tickets sold prior to release. Despite having fewer than 4,000 shows on day one—significantly lower than Housefull 5 (6,000 shows) and Sitaare Zameen Par (9,000 shows)—the film’s strong word-of-mouth and critical acclaim have positioned it for a promising weekend.
Critics have praised the film’s blend of satire, drama, and humor. The story centers on a legal battle between Jolly Mishra (Akshay Kumar) and Jolly Tyagi (Arshad Warsi), representing opposing sides in a case involving land rights and political corruption. Seema Biswas delivers a compelling performance as a widow seeking justice, while Saurabh Shukla returns as Judge Tripathi, anchoring the courtroom drama with his trademark wit.
Trade analysts expect the film to cross ₹50 crore by the end of its opening weekend, with Saturday collections projected to jump by 60%, potentially reaching ₹20 crore. If momentum continues, Jolly LLB 3 could become the highest-grossing entry in the franchise, surpassing Jolly LLB 2’s ₹108 crore lifetime earnings.
With strong performances, sharp writing, and a socially relevant message, Jolly LLB 3 is poised to emerge as one of the standout hits of 2025.
