Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday had announced that vaccinations for 15 to 18-year-olds will begin on January 3, 2022. Four municipal corporation workers dies while working on a drainage system in Akkalkot of Maharashtra's Solapur district on Friday. Two workers had died on the very spot on Thursday while the two others had been taken to a hospital in serious condition and died on Friday morning. After the incident, the locals blamed Solapur Municipal Corporation for their negligence.  Locals  said that the municipality did not provide the safety gears necessary for workers engaged in drainage work. India on Wednesday successfully tested short-range, surface to surface-guided ballistic missile ‘Pralay' off the Odisha coast,  known from the DRDO sources. The missile is  developed by the Defence Research Development Organisation which is based on Prithvi Defence Vehicle from the Indian ballistic missile programme. The missile, launched from the APJ Abdul Kalam Island at around 10:30 am, met all the mission objectives, the sources said. A battery of tracking instruments monitored its trajectory along the coastline.  'Pralay' is a 350-500 km short-range, surface-to-surface missile with a payload capacity of 500-1,000 kg.  'Pralay' is a quasi ballistic surface to surface missile.…

A shallow and strong earthquake of magnitude 6.1 was felt in India-Myanmar border.  The quake was reported at 5.15 am with its epicentre at a depth of 73 km southeast of Thenzawl, Mizoram, according to the National Centre of Seismology (NCS). The tremors were felt as far away as in West Bengal, Tripura, and Assam in eastern India.   The depth of the quake was 12 km. So far, no reports of any damage have surfaced.
