In an unfortunate development, renowned actor Rio Kapadia, who worked in films including Chak De India!, Dil Chahta Hai and Happy New Year among others, breathed his last. His age was 66. His friend Faisal Malikdeath has confirmed this news. The cause of his death is still a mystery.
According to reports, Rio Kapadia will be cremated today September 15, 2023, at Shiv Dham crematorium in Goregaon. He is survived by his wife Maria Farah and children Aman and Veer.
Rio started out as a model and appeared in many commercials in the 80s and 90s. Recently, he was a part of Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagati’s popular web series – Made in Heaven Season 2.
Rio also played roles in movies like Mardaani, Agent Vinod, Shree, Hum Hai Raahi Car Ke, Khuda Hafeez, Aakhari Decision, The Big Bull, and among others. Also, he has worked in TV soaps such as Sapnae Suhaane Ladakpan Ke, Siddharth Tewari’s Mahabharata where he was seen as Gandhari’s father, King Subala of Gandhara.
The sudden news of his death has left his family and celebrity friends in shock and deep grief.
