Director Krish to Reunite with Nandamuri Balakrishna for New Film Project

Hyderabad, September 15 — Acclaimed filmmaker Krish Jagarlamudi is set to collaborate once again with veteran actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, marking their reunion after the success of their 2017 historical epic Gautamiputra Satakarni. Industry sources confirm that Krish is currently developing a new script tailored for Balakrishna, with pre-production expected to begin next month.

While details of the storyline remain under wraps, speculation is rife that the upcoming project could be the long-awaited sequel to Aditya 369, the 1991 cult socio-fantasy film starring Balakrishna. The actor has previously expressed interest in reviving the franchise, even suggesting that his son Mokshagna might feature in a pivotal role. However, recent developments indicate that Balakrishna himself will headline the sequel, tentatively titled Aditya 999.

Krish, known for his emotionally rich narratives and sharp writing, has faced a challenging phase at the box office with recent releases such as Ghaati and Hari Hara Veera Mallu. Despite these setbacks, Balakrishna has reaffirmed his trust in the director’s creative vision, greenlighting the new venture with enthusiasm.

The film is expected to feature a fantasy backdrop, aligning with Krish’s strength in blending mythological themes with contemporary storytelling. Principal photography is likely to commence in early 2026, following the completion of Balakrishna’s ongoing commitments, including a separate project with director Gopichand Malineni scheduled to begin during the Dasara festival.

This reunion has generated significant buzz among fans and industry watchers, with expectations high for another impactful cinematic offering from the Krish–Balakrishna duo. Further announcements regarding casting, production timelines, and official title are anticipated in the coming weeks.
