National award-winning director Srijit Mukherjee is all set to add a feather to his success list by bringing back Uttam Kumar to the silver screen. Here he himself plays the role of “mahanayak”. Presently he is on cloud nine of success as recently he won the national award for his film “Gumnami” and now he is going to start the shooting of this film “Ati Uttam” and that is already announced.
Out of total 77 films on which Uttam Kumar acted, footage of 54 films will be taken for VFX and will be used in the film to recreate the magic. Each and every style of Uttam Kumar is screened through ureteroscopy. Through this film, Srijit will introduce some new faces like Roshni Bhatyacharjee, Jeena Tarafdar, Laboni Subhasish Mukhyapadhay, and many more. Uttam Kumar’s grandson Gourav Chatterjee is also there in the list who acts by using his own name.
For completing 10 years for the release of “Autograph” which was a tribute to the filmmaker Satyajit Ray and to the mahayanayak, the director is again going to tribute Uttam Kumar through this film for which he had been writing the screen continuously for the last 3 years with detailed research
Director Srijit Mukharhee creates movies that are basically in the thriller genre but “Ati Uttam” is out of the box for him as it is a romantic- comedy genre. The director told that in the present Covid situation everyone is scared to move around, that’s why he wants to show a motivational story through which he can inspire people to come back to the movie hall.
