Farewell programme held for outgoing DC in Kohima

Farewell programme in honour of outgoing deputy commissioner (DC) Kohima, Mohammed Ali Shihab A was held at DC’s conference hall on January 19.

According to DIPR, the outgoing DC in his farewell speech thanked everyone for their unconditional love and support. He said whatever the district achieved during his tenure were possible because of the joint efforts contributed by everyone and thanked Angami Public Organisation (APO), Rengma Hoho, various organisations/agencies, GBs, DBs, administrative officers, line departments for their assistance and support towards the achievements.

On the ongoing activities under the district, Mohammed Ali pointed out that with collective support and assistance from principal secretary, CM, ANSU, Science College principal & team and Village Council Jotsoma, suggestions made to solve the Kohima Science College land issue was approved by cabinet on December 18 for necessary action. He also mentioned on ongoing road activities in Kohima, where he expressed his optimism to achieve logistic conclusion very soon.  

Speaking on behalf of officers and staff, ADC Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa appreciated the outgoing DC for his coordination with high authority and that through his initiatives much was achieved in a record time.

She said that outgoing DC joined the office on October 9 when the nomination was taking place for Southern Angami by-election amidst the pandemic. He willingly took the challenges and conducted peaceful and safe election by maintaining all the Covid protocols under his initiatives.

ADC pointed out that under his initiatives, Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) for the welfare of DC’s staff was taken up during the pandemic and got the approval from the cabinet.

SP Kohima, Manoj Kumar who also spoke on the occasion expressed his admiration on the quality of positive attitude towards works held by outgoing DC. He said that lot of achievements and efforts were contributed by the outgoing DC during his short tenure and added that his sincerity and dedication set an example for everyone.

Earlier, the farewell programme was chaired by EAC (Sadar), Kevingoto Kulnu, invocation by Ketuoravi Marina and special number by Dobashis of DC’s Office, Kohima.
