Film Producer Vivek Agnihotri reacts to Akshay Kumar’s praise of The Kashmir Files: ‘Majboori mein kya bolega aadmi’

Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri has recently taken a dig at Akshay Kumar and alleged that the actor preferred his movie The Kashmir Files to ‘Majboori (Helpless)’. In a new interview, Vivek pointed out that numerous Bollywood people like Akshay have praised the film. Vivek said the actor had to appreciate the movie as many people requested him about Kashmir Files. Both Vivek and Akshay Kumar staged an event in Bhopal where Akshay loved The Kashmir Files but also said his film flopped because of Bachchan Pandey.

Earlier, on Twitter, Vivek had shared a video in which Akshay said, “Hum sabko desh ki kahaniyan kehni hai, Kuch jaani maani, kuch ankahi, ansuni. Jaise Vivek ji ne Kashmir Files bana kar ek bahut bade dardnaak sach ko saamne rakha hai. Ye film ek aisi wave ban kar aayi jisne hum sabko jhinjhor kar diya hai . Wo aur baat haiki meri photo ko bhi duba diya hai. (All of us, we favor to inform memories of our country. Some might also be well-known, others not as much. For example, Vivek has made The Kashmir Files that introduced a painful reality to the fore and shook us all. That it caused my movie to flop is a distinct issue).” Sharing the video, Vivek had written, “Thanks @akshaykumar for your grasp for #TheKashmirFiles.”

During a current dialog with VJ Raunac, it used to be pointed out that Akshay favored the film. Vivek replied, “Woh toh majboori mein ab kya bolega aadmi jab 100 log saamne khade hoke sawaal puchenge Kashmir Files. ‘Aapki movie nahi chali aur woh chal gayi’ toh kya bolsakte hai? Woh toh predominant ek feature mein tha Bhopal mein usme bolna padh gaya (That he had to say out of helplessness when a hundred people got here to him asking about The Kashmir Files. When asked ‘your movie did not do well and that one worked’ then what can he say? I used to be additionally attending a characteristic in Bhopal where I had to reward the film).”

When further requested if he got any grasp message, Vivek replied, “Peeche koi nahi bolta sab public…Ek aadmi ne mujhe message nahi kiya…Sablog apni movie promote karne jaate hai aur media waalein unse Kashmir Files ke baare mein puch lete hai. Toh unhe majboori mein kuch bolna padhta hai. Par apne mann se kisine kuch nahi bola (Nobody appreciates personally…No one messaged me. Everyone used to be advertising their movies and the media would ask about The Kashmir Files. They had to say something out of pressure. But no one said something out of their very own will).”

Vivek’s The Kashmir File stars Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi and Darshan Kumar in lead roles. The Kashmir Files are about the exodus of Kashmiri scholars living in the Kashmir Valley in the 1990s. In its first week, Kashmir Files grossed ₹110 crore while Bachchan Pandey made a venture of ₹46 crore during the same period.
