Gurmeet Choudhary revealed that he has eaten only boiled food for a year and a half. He also spoke about his strict rules.
Gurmeet Choudhary became a fan favourite after he appeared in Netflix’s ‘Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein’ season 2. He entered the show as Purva’s friend mentor.
Now, in a new interview, the actor revealed that he quit eating sugar, rice and roti for a year and a half for his character. In the same interview, he also spoke about some of his other habits like touching the feet of his wife Debina Bonnerjee and his daughters.
Speaking to Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiyaa on their YouTube channel Bharti TV, Gurmeet Choudhary said, “It is quite tough. It has been one and a half years since I ate sugar, roti, rice or even bread. It is not easy at all.
You have to prepare yourself mentally for every character.” Gurmeet revealed how big a challenge it was for him. “I am a big foodie and I had to give up eating,” the actor said. He further added, “I ate only one type of food for one and a half years, just boiled food. It has no taste, but slowly I started finding it delicious.
Now my appetite has increased so much that if I eat something unhealthy, it won’t taste good to me at all. I can eat ghee, but if it is too much then my body rejects it.” He also spoke about his strict routine, revealing that he wakes up at 4 am and goes to sleep around 9:30 pm.
In the same interview, the actor also revealed how his life changed after he met his wife. The couple worked together in the mythological drama Ramayan on NDTV Imagine. They met on the sets of the show and later got married.
Talking about his wife, the actor said, “After Debina came into my life and later my daughters… I understood that no amount of praise or respect can justify their importance.
People often argue that ‘why should we touch our wife’s feet?’ Vikrant Massey was trolled a lot when he shared pictures of his Karwa Chauth celebrations, in which he was seen touching his wife’s feet. I also touch my wife’s feet. Women deserve it.”
He explained, “The kind of things women can do, we can never even imagine. There is no comparison. I saw her giving birth to our daughters. Then she takes care of the whole house. Then she takes care of her profession. Women can do many things at once. We men cannot. My wife is like God to me. I can worship her all my life. She supported me when I was nothing. She is my everything. Every morning I touch the feet of both my daughters.”
