Hera Pheri 3: Director Priyadarshan Reacts to Akshay Kumar’s Production House Lawsuit

The “Hera Pheri 3” controversy has escalated as director Priyadarshan publicly defended Akshay Kumar’s production house’s decision to sue Paresh Rawal for “unprofessional behavior.” This comes days after Rawal’s abrupt exit from the film.

Priyadarshan, speaking to Hindustan Times, revealed that Akshay Kumar, who legally acquired the film’s rights from producer Feroz Nadiadwala, had confirmed Rawal’s involvement before production began. “I don’t know why this happened because Paresh didn’t inform us. Before starting the film, Akshay asked me to check with both Paresh and Suniel and I did and both were onboard,” Priyadarshan stated. He emphasized Kumar’s financial investment in the film, justifying the legal action. “Paresh Rawal hasn’t spoken to me till date,” he added.

Sources close to the legal proceedings claim Rawal displayed “a blatant disregard for professional integrity,” alleging he should have declined the project before signing the contract and accepting payment, thus avoiding significant production costs.

Rawal, when contacted, responded, “I am not aware of this yet.”

The dispute arose after Priyadarshan announced “Hera Pheri 3” with Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Rawal earlier this year. Rawal later confirmed his departure, citing reasons other than “creative differences.”

Akshay Kumar’s production house has reportedly issued a legal notice to Rawal, seeking damages of Rs 25 crore for losses incurred due to his withdrawal.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar recently announced the completion of “Bhooth Bangla,” another collaboration with Priyadarshan, amidst the ongoing “Hera Pheri 3” turmoil.
