Mumbai: The fifth instalment of the popular Bollywood comedy franchise Housefull, starring Akshay Kumar and Sanjay Dutt, has officially premiered on Prime Video. Directed and written by Tarun Mansukhani, Housefull 5 is now available for streaming in over 240 countries and territories, following its theatrical release on June 6, 2025.
Produced under Sajid Nadiadwala’s banner, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the film was released in two versions—Housefull 5A and Housefull 5B—each featuring a different climax and killer reveal. The ensemble cast includes Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Chitrangada Singh, Fardeen Khan, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Chunky Pandey, Johnny Lever, Nikitin Dheer, and Soundarya Sharma.
Set aboard a luxury cruise ship during the 100th birthday celebration of billionaire Mr. Dobriyal (played by Ranjeet), the plot spirals into chaos following his mysterious death. The narrative unfolds as three men—each claiming to be Dobriyal’s long-lost son Jolly—compete for his fortune, triggering a comedic murder mystery filled with mistaken identities and slapstick mayhem.
Despite mixed critical reception, particularly for its humor and portrayal of female characters, Housefull 5 has performed moderately well at the box office, grossing ₹288.58 crore worldwide. The OTT release is expected to further expand its audience reach, especially among fans of the franchise’s signature over-the-top comedy.
Streaming is available exclusively on Prime Video, with both versions—5A and 5B—now accessible to subscribers.
