IFFI 2025 to Honour Rajinikanth and Balakrishna for 50 Years in Cinema

The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2025, set to take place in Goa from November 20 to 28, will honour iconic actors Rajinikanth and Nandamuri Balakrishna for completing 50 years in the film industry. The announcement was made by Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Dr. L. Murugan, during a press briefing alongside Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.

Rajinikanth, a legendary figure in Tamil cinema, began his career in 1975 and has since become a cultural icon known for his unique style and mass appeal. Nandamuri Balakrishna, a prominent name in Telugu cinema, started his journey in 1974 and has acted in over 100 films, earning acclaim for his powerful performances and contributions to the industry.

The felicitation will take place during the closing ceremony of IFFI, where both actors will be celebrated for their enduring legacy and impact on Indian cinema. The event is expected to be attended by leading figures from the film fraternity and government.

This tribute marks a significant moment in the festival’s history, highlighting the achievements of two stalwarts whose careers have shaped regional and national cinema over five decades.
