Hyderabad, August 13, 2025 — Telugu superstar Jr NTR has publicly thanked the Andhra Pradesh government for approving a temporary hike in ticket prices for his upcoming pan-India action thriller War 2, which is set to release on August 14. The move, formalized through a new Government Order (G.O.), is expected to significantly boost box office returns during the film’s crucial opening days.
The Andhra Pradesh government’s decision allows for increased ticket prices and additional early morning shows for the first ten days of War 2’s theatrical run. This initiative is seen as a strategic measure to help distributors and producers recover their investments, especially in a climate where theatrical revenues have been inconsistent.
Jr NTR, who makes his Hindi film debut in War 2, took to social media to express his appreciation:
“My sincere thanks to the Honourable CM of Andhra Pradesh, Sri @NCBN garu and the Honourable Deputy CM, Sri @PawanKalyan garu, for passing the new G.O. for the #War2 release. I also extend my gratitude to the Cinematography Minister Sri @kanduladurgesh garu.”
The ticket price revision has been welcomed by trade analysts, who anticipate a strong opening for the film. Producer Naga Vamsi, who holds the Telugu distribution rights, is planning a record-breaking release across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He emphasized that War 2 should be viewed not merely as a dubbed Bollywood film, but as a “true Telugu film” in spirit.
Advance bookings have already crossed ₹10 crore in the Telugu states alone, with nationwide pre-sales exceeding ₹20 crore—a testament to the film’s massive anticipation.
Fans of Jr NTR have begun celebrations, erecting large cutouts and flex banners at theatres. The actor also extended his thanks to the Telangana government for facilitating the pre-release event in Hyderabad, acknowledging Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the Telangana Police for their support.
