Jr NTR Takes Over Lord Kumara Swamy Role in Trivikram Film, Replacing Allu Arjun

Jr. NTR is set to reunite with director Trivikram Srinivas for a highly anticipated mythological drama, where the “Devara” actor will reportedly portray Lord Kumara Swamy. This magnum opus marks a significant casting change, as Jr. NTR steps into a role initially envisioned for Allu Arjun.

Sources indicate that Jr. NTR has been finalized for the titular mythological role in the film, which will be bankrolled by Radha Krishna and Suryadevara Naga Vamsi under the prestigious Harika Hassine Creations banner. While negotiations are ongoing, an official announcement from the makers is expected imminently.

Interestingly, this mythical venture was originally slated to star Allu Arjun as his follow-up project after “AA22xA6” with Atlee. The film, then dubbed “AA23,” would have reunited the “Julayi” duo of Allu Arjun and Trivikram. However, the “Pushpa” star’s demanding schedule reportedly led to his amicable departure from the project.

Jr. NTR’s casting as Lord Kumara Swamy has immediately escalated expectations, especially given his proven ability to embody powerful and diverse characters. This mythological role is anticipated to be a grand spectacle, showcasing the actor in a new light.

On the work front, Jr. NTR has a packed schedule. He is poised for a significant role opposite Hrithik Roshan in “War 2,” the Ayan Mukerji-directed sequel to the 2019 blockbuster “War,” expanding the YRF Spy Universe. “War 2” is scheduled for an August 14, 2025 release, potentially clashing with Rajinikanth’s “Coolie.” Additionally, Jr. NTR is currently filming his project with Prashanth Neel, tentatively titled “NTRNeel,” and has “Devara: Part 2” and a Dadasaheb Phalke biopic in his pipeline.

Meanwhile, Allu Arjun is deeply involved in Atlee’s directorial venture, a film touted to be in the “parallel universe” genre. Speculation suggests the actor will essay multiple roles, including an animated character, in this VFX-heavy production. Deepika Padukone is confirmed as the female lead, with other prominent actresses like Mrunal Thakur and Janhvi Kapoor also reportedly in contention for roles.
