Veteran actress Juhi Chawla recently opened up about her deep admiration for Bollywood icon Rekha, sharing personal anecdotes that highlight Rekha’s empathy and timeless charm. In an exclusive conversation with Filmfare, Juhi said, “I have experienced Rekha’s empathy on many occasions in my life, both sad and happy”.
Juhi reminisced about growing up watching Rekha’s films, particularly her romantic performances alongside Amitabh Bachchan. She recalled iconic moments from classics like Mr. Natwarlal and Silsila, describing Rekha’s screen presence as the epitome of cinematic romance. “I still remember in the song ‘Ye Ladki Hai Ya Shola’ from Silsila, Rekha ji takes a twirl and her paranda wraps itself over Amit ji’s shoulder. Ah! I thought that was truly the epitome of romance in the movies,” Juhi shared.
She also recounted a pivotal moment in her own life when Rekha crowned her Miss India, calling it a “beautiful surprise” and a cherished memory.
