Mumbai, August 23 — Acclaimed actress Kajol is set to reprise her role as Noyonika Sengupta in the second season of the legal drama The Trial: Pyaar Kaanoon and Dhoka, premiering September 19 on JioCinema. The series, an Indian adaptation of the American show The Good Wife, returns with heightened stakes, emotional intensity, and a gripping narrative that blends courtroom drama with personal turmoil.
Directed by Umesh Bist and produced by Banijay Asia, Season 2 picks up after the explosive events of the first season, where Noyonika’s husband, Rajiv Sengupta (played by Jisshu Sengupta), was embroiled in a sex scandal and arrested for corruption.
