Hollywood icons Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock are set to reunite on screen for an untitled romantic thriller, marking their first collaboration since ‘The Lake House’ (2006). The film is being developed by Amazon MGM Studios, with Noah Oppenheim—known for his work on ‘Jackie’ and ‘The Maze Runner’—penning the screenplay.
Reeves and Bullock first captivated audiences with their electrifying chemistry in the 1994 blockbuster ‘Speed’, which grossed over $350 million worldwide and became a defining action film of the decade. Their second collaboration, ‘The Lake House’, was a romantic fantasy that explored a love story across different timelines.
Fans have long hoped for another project featuring the duo, and their reunion has sparked excitement across social media. The film is described as “propulsive”, blending romance with suspense, though plot details remain under wraps.
The film will be produced by Sandra Bullock’s Fortis Films, Keanu Reeves, and Mark Gordon, who previously worked on ‘Speed’. Bibby Dunn and Sarah Bremner from The Mark Gordon Company will also be involved in production.
While Reeves has been busy with ‘John Wick 5’ and the upcoming comedy ‘Good Fortune’, Bullock has maintained a lower profile but is expected to return for the much-anticipated sequel to ‘Practical Magic’, alongside Nicole Kidman.
