TV actress Divya Bhatnagar passed away yesterday due to Covid-19 in Mumbai and since then a lot has been reported about her troubled marriage. After Devoleena Bhattacharjee’s allegations earlier, the late actor’s brother has also spoken up. He revealed that Divya was subjected to violence at the hands of her husband, Gagan Gabru.
In an emotional video posted to the actress’s Instagram, Devoleena appears teary eyed. In the beginning of the 7-minute video, the Saath Nibhaana Saathiya actress speaks about the friendship that she shared with Divya—how she was like family to her and how their equation changed over time due to Gagan getting added to the equation.
Divya’s brother Devashish told The Times of India: “Gagan started torturing Divya physically and mentally soon after their marriage. She had written a note on November 7, in which she had stated that Gagan tortures and abuses her. We found the note in her cupboard yesterday. She had also approached the police and filed an NC on November 16 against him, following an episode of domestic abuse. I had told her to stay strong when I got to talk to her during her hospitalisation.”
