Mammootty’s ‘Kalamkaval’ Locks Its Theatrical Release Date

Malayalam cinema icon Mammootty’s upcoming crime thriller Kalamkaval has officially locked its theatrical release date. The film is set to hit screens worldwide on November 27, 2025, as confirmed by the production team.

Directed by debutant filmmaker Jithin K Jose, Kalamkaval marks a significant addition to Mammootty’s diverse filmography. Jose, who previously contributed to the story of Dulquer Salmaan’s Kurup, brings a gritty narrative to life in this intense action drama.

Mammootty is expected to portray a character inspired by real-life serial killer Mohan Kumar, also known as “Cyanide Mohan,” who was convicted of multiple murders. The film’s teaser and promotional materials hint at a dark, psychological tone, with Mammootty’s character facing off against actor Vinayakan, who plays a police officer.

The film has received a U/A certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), clearing the way for its theatrical release. Cinematography is handled by Faisal Ali, music is composed by Mujib Majid, and editing is by Praveen Prabhakar.

Kalamkaval is jointly produced by Mammootty Kampany and Bhadrakali Pictures. With its gripping premise and powerful performances, the film is expected to draw significant attention from both critics and audiences across India.

Further promotional events and trailer releases are anticipated in the coming weeks as the countdown to release begins.
