In a recent interview, actor Mathew Thomas spoke about the differences between his upcoming film Lovely and SS Rajamouli’s Eega.
Actor Mathew Thomas is gearing up for the release of his film Lovely, which is set to hit the big screens on May 16. The story centres on Mathew’s character and a talking housefly, drawing comparisons to SS Rajamouli’s 2012 film Eega. However, in a recent interview, the actor clarified that Lovely is different from Eega.
In an interview with Onmanorama, Mathew said, “It’s definitely a different kind of film. A housefly that speaks, the conversations between my character and the fly, their bond, it’s all a lot of fun. It’s a light-hearted, feel-good film.”
After the release of the trailer of Lovely, the film is being compared to SS Rajamouli’s Eega, starring Nani, Sudeep and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. However, Mathew Thomas clarified that the similarities are limited only to the presence of a housefly.
“There is absolutely no connection between Eega and Lovely. Eega was an action-thriller. The fly in that film had a hero vibe. There is nothing like that in our film. The housefly in Lovely is literally called Lovely – and as the name suggests, she is cute, a little mischievous, and just…cute,” he said.
On the work front, Mathew Thomas also has Udumbanchola Vision. Talking about the film, which is slated to release in June, Mathew said, “This film will not disappoint anyone. It has many different moments. So, it won’t be easy to guess how the film will turn out. You can rest assured that Udumbanchola Vision will deliver an exciting, thrilling experience.”
