Mumbai, August 28 — Following a successful theatrical run, Anurag Basu’s ensemble musical drama Metro…In Dino is slated for its digital release on Netflix, beginning August 29, 2025.
Produced by T-Series Films and Anurag Basu Productions, the film features a star-studded cast including Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Ali Fazal, and Fatima Sana Shaikh. It is widely regarded as a spiritual successor to Basu’s acclaimed 2007 film Life in a… Metro, continuing the anthology format with interwoven stories of urban love, heartbreak, and emotional resilience.
Set across five Indian cities—Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Pune, and Kolkata—the narrative explores contemporary relationships through four distinct couples, each grappling with intimacy, conflict, and self-discovery. The film opens with a vibrant Holi sequence and unfolds through layered character arcs that reflect the complexities of modern life.
The soundtrack, composed by Pritam, has received early praise for its emotional depth and melodic richness. Songs such as “Zamaana Lage,” “Dil Ka Kya,” and “Aur Mohabbat Kitni Karoon” have resonated with audiences, echoing the nostalgic appeal of the original Life in a… Metro score.
Metro…In Dino was released theatrically on July 4, 2025, and grossed approximately ₹72.43 crore worldwide against a production budget of ₹47 crore. With its OTT debut, the film is expected to reach a broader audience and continue its impact as a poignant reflection of urban emotional landscapes.
The film will be available for streaming exclusively on Netflix starting August 29.
