Mini Mathur Condemns Paparazzi for Intrusive Coverage of Kajol: “How Dare You Zoom In on Her Body”

Mumbai, August 24 — Television host and actor Mini Mathur has publicly criticized paparazzi culture after a viral video of Bollywood star Kajol sparked online speculation and body-shaming. The video, posted by a celebrity photographer’s Instagram account, zoomed in on Kajol’s body as she arrived at an event wearing a sleek black bodycon dress. The footage led to widespread commentary, including unfounded pregnancy rumors and critiques of her appearance.

In a strongly worded comment, Mathur wrote:

“How dare you zoom in on her body???? She doesn’t owe you guys eternal youth. You don’t get to decide how she should look”.

Her statement quickly gained traction, with many social media users applauding her for defending Kajol and calling out the objectification of women in the public eye. The incident has reignited conversations around media ethics, privacy, and the double standards faced by female celebrities.

Kajol, 51, later posted photos of herself in the same outfit, receiving praise for her confidence and elegance. Fans flooded the comments with support, highlighting the unfair scrutiny women face compared to their male counterparts.

On the professional front, Kajol is set to reprise her role as Noyonika Sengupta in Season 2 of The Trial: Pyaar, Kanoon, Dhokha, streaming on JioHotstar from September 19. The legal drama, an Indian adaptation of The Good Wife, will explore Noyonika’s decision to divorce her disgraced husband while navigating complex legal and personal dilemmas.

Kajol will also co-host the upcoming chat show Two Much alongside author Twinkle Khanna, and was recently seen in the horror film Maa, now streaming on Netflix.

Mini Mathur’s intervention has been widely viewed as a call for greater accountability in celebrity coverage, urging media professionals to respect boundaries and reconsider the impact of their content.
