Mohanlal’s Heartfelt Birthday Wish for Malavika Mohanan Sparks Buzz Ahead of Hridayapoorvam Release

Kochi, August 4 — Malayalam cinema icon Mohanlal has captured hearts with a warm birthday message to his Hridayapoorvam co-star Malavika Mohanan, shared via social media on Sunday. The greeting, posted alongside a new poster from their upcoming film, has added emotional momentum to the anticipation surrounding the Onam 2025 release.

“Happy Birthday, Malavika Mohanan #Hridayapoorvam #August28 #Onam2025,” Mohanlal wrote, featuring an image of the duo walking through a bustling street, both smiling warmly. Malavika responded with equal affection: “Laletta, thank you! Hridayapoorvam has been one of my loveliest experiences & I can’t wait for the world to watch it.”

Directed by veteran filmmaker Sathyan Anthikad, Hridayapoorvam marks the 20th collaboration between Anthikad and Mohanlal, their first since Ennum Eppozhum in 2015. The film tells the story of a man rebuilding his life after a heart transplant, promising a narrative rich in emotion, healing, and second chances.

The screenplay is penned by Sonu TP, based on a story by Akhil Sathyan, with Anoop Sathyan serving as associate director—making it a deeply personal project for the Anthikad family. Produced by Antony Perumbavoor under Aashirvad Cinemas, the film features a seasoned ensemble cast including Sangita, Siddique, Janardhanan, Lalu Alex, Baburaj, Nishan, and Sangeeth Prathap.

Malavika, in her reflections, called the experience “surreal,” praising Mohanlal and Anthikad for their grace and cinematic mastery. She also addressed public speculation about the film’s casting, clarifying that the story is not romantic in nature and urging viewers to avoid assumptions.

With music by Justin Prabhakaran and cinematography by Anu Moothedath, Hridayapoorvam is set to release on August 28, joining a star-studded Onam lineup that includes Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira, Balti, and Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra.

The birthday exchange has not only highlighted the camaraderie between the lead actors but also deepened public interest in what promises to be one of the year’s most emotionally resonant Malayalam films.
