My Name Is Vendetta

My Name Is Vendetta , Cosimo Gomez, an Italian filmmaker, aims to live up to the expectations of hardcore action fans while also incorporating a healthy dose of human relationship melodrama, utilising the central duo of a father and daughter around whom the story is built.

It is quite a typical kind of filmy revenge saga that we’ve seen in a number of movies. In this film, an ex-con named Santo (Alessandro Gassmann) loses his loved ones to the mayhem caused by his criminal past of working with the Sicilian mafia, and then goes on to unleash a brutal vendetta against those who destroyed his home. But he is not alone in his pursuit for justice, as his daughter Sofia (Ginevra Francesconi) joins him in his efforts to apprehend those who have ruined their almost idyllic life. Throughout the film’s 92-minute runtime, writer-director Gomez blends revenge drama with equal amounts of emotion, but despite everything in place—from fast-paced storytelling to brutal murders—’My Name Is Vendetta’ falls short of the thrill quotient.
